The story of Red Oak, Texas, dates back to the 1840s, but most of the story has yet to be written.

Developing with much of the rest of North Texas a few years after Texas won its independence from Mexico, Red Oak was originally agricultural land, with wheat and cotton pushing most of the local economy, although the population of the region didn’t develop into the triple digits for decades. By 1949, when the town incorporated, Red Oak had only a handful of businesses and a few dozen residents.

Today, the small town is at the frontier of development in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area. Red Oak is expanding quickly, and residents are moving to the still-small community for its low housing prices and easy access to the Metroplex and all of its services. Residents of Red Oak that need LASIK eye surgery can access it easily, as the town is near enough to the main part of the Metroplex to provide residents with all they need, including eye care centers. LASIK eye surgery is a safe and effective way to cure blurry vision, and Red Oak expands, residents will want to see the development clearly before their eyes.

Experts expect Red Oak to expand rapidly as the population of the Metroplex continues to push outward, with some indicating that the small community will grow from its current population of about 10,000 to upwards of 60,000 by 2030. The town’s location along I-35E makes it especially appealing for individuals that want more land but also access to the Metroplex.
