As suburbs go, Arlington may be in a class of its own. The nation’s 50th-largest city, Arlington is located just between Dallas and Fort Worth and provides its residents with all of the services and offerings as city living, including access to LASIK eye surgery services.

Arlington was first settled back in the 1840s, but it wasn’t until the 1950s that the city truly started to take off. As part of a trend in a few places around the country after World War II, Arlington’s population exploded, and it is now home to 375,000 residents.

Of course, Arlington isn’t your typical suburb. In the early 1970s, the Washington Senators moved to Arlington and became the Texas Rangers, and the town added another professional sports team back in 2009 when the Dallas Cowboys made it their home.

For further recreation, Arlington is home to Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor. The city also has a variety of economic offerings, including serving as the home of a major General Motors manufacturing facility. The United States Bowling Congress, International Bowling Museum, and International Bowling Hall of Fame all call Arlington their home, as well.

But if you’re visiting Arlington, make sure you have a ride. The city is the largest in the United States without public transportation, and it hasn’t even thought about adding a transit system for the past decade.

Of course, that doesn’t mean you’ll be cut off from recreation and necessary services. There are multiple eye care centers in Arlington, and you can visit facilities like the Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital for LASIK eye surgery. LASIK eye surgery can do wonders to change your view of the world, and it can help you enjoy Arlington that much more.
